ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's sailing team will begin its spring championship season when it heads south to compete at the Georgetown Race League #1 beginning on Saturday, Feb. 28. The team will compete out of the Washington Sailing Marina.
The Big Red will begin an 18-meet schedule that includes three separate trips to Washington, D.C. prior to April. Cornell will host the Prosser Team Race Championship the first week of April - the beginning of postseason competition that concludes with nationals later that month and into May.
The highlight of the fall was sophomore
Gilda Dondona, who made program history by winning the Janet Lutz Trophy as the ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Champion. Cornell grabbed second as a team at the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy and was runner-up at the Women's ACC Semifinals.
