ITHACA, N.Y. -- Kentucky got off to a quick start and held off Cornell for a 18-13 victory in men's polo action on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. The Big Red fell to 10-2 on the season.
Max Sponer scored seven goals and
Malachi Light added five with
Dylan Tung notching the remaining score for the Big Red.
Kentucky jumped out to a 4-0 lead and led 6-3 after the first chukker and 9-7 at halftime. After the Big Red got within one to start the second half, the Wildcats put in six unanswered, including four straight to end the third and held off the Big Red late.
Cornell will face the Toronto Polo Club on Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at Oxley Equestrian Center.
