ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are set for a busy weekend, splitting competition between the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa., on Saturday, April 11 and the Big Red Invite at home on Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12.
Cornell will host the Big Red Invite at Kane Sports Complex, where the full squad is slated to compete against a regional field that includes Binghamton, Bridgeport, Buffalo, Colgate, Cortland State, Ithaca College, Le Moyne, SUNY Geneseo and Syracuse. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with competition continuing through Sunday as the Big Red take on a deep field in Ithaca. Live results will be available on leonetiming.com. A select group of Cornell distance runners will travel to Bucknell University for the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday. The meet will feature the Big Red's 1,500- and 5,000-meter athletes competing in both unseeded and invitational sections throughout the day. Events begin at 1 p.m. with the women's unseeded 1,500 meters and conclude with the men's invitational 5,000 meters at 8:55 p.m. Live streaming will be available on FloTrack, with results provided by Leone Timing.
The weekend slate provides Cornell with a strong opportunity to build in the early season, combining full-team competition on its home track with high-level distance racing on the road.
