ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell University Athletics & Physical Education has launched the Big Red Champions Challenge, a limited-time giving opportunity that will triple the impact of donor support for student‑athletes across all 37 varsity programs.
From May 4 through May 31, gifts of $100 or more to the Athletics Core Annual Fund will be matched 2:1, up to $250,000, thanks to the generosity of the Big Red Champions Council. In addition, when 250 donors make a gift of any amount during the challenge period, an additional $250,000 will be unlocked, bringing the total challenge impact to $500,000.

Funds raised through the Big Red Champions Challenge support the Athletics Core Annual Fund, which makes possible the services and people at the heart of the student-athlete experience: strength & conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, mental health, leadership development, apparel and equipment, fan engagement, communications, and multimedia.
"When you participate in the Big Red Champions Challenge, you're strengthening every team, including the ones you care about most. Together, we can show what's possible when the Big Red community comes together for our student‑athletes," said Karin Kukral '82, Inaugural Member, Big Red Champions Council.
Dave Dase '89, Inaugural Member, Big Red Champions Council, shares, "Every gift, regardless of sport affinity, helps lift the entire Cornell Athletics community, including the programs closest to your heart. Being part of this challenge means investing in every student‑athlete and the shared resources that help them excel."
Donors can make their gift and help triple their impact by visiting giving.cornell.edu/champions before 11:59 p.m. ET on May 31.
