ITHACA, N.Y. — Ten current, former, and incoming Cornell men's hockey student-athletes will hit the ice at NHL development camps this week, with representation spanning nine different franchises.
Los Angeles will be the only club with multiple Cornell connections, as rising junior forward
Ivan Zadvernyuk — who is transferring to Cornell from Ivy League rival Brown — and incoming freshman forward
Louie Wehmann will both skate with the Kings on camp invites. Four other current Big Red student-athletes will attend camps on invites: rising junior forward
Charlie Major (Toronto Maple Leafs), and rising sophomore forwards
Gio DiGiulian (New York Rangers),
Reegan Hiscock (Florida Panthers), and
Caton Ryan (Buffalo Sabres).
Incoming freshman defenseman
Cole Tuminaro,
selected by Colorado in the fifth round of the 2026 NHL Upper Deck Draft on Saturday at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, will join the Avalanche at their development camp. Rising sophomore defenseman
Xavier Veilleux will participate with the New York Islanders after being taken by the club in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Rounding out the group are former Big Red forwards
Jonathan Castagna and defenseman
Hoyt Stanley,
both of whom signed entry-level contracts in late March. Castagna will suit up for Calgary, while Stanley heads to Ottawa, as both return to the teams that drafted them in 2023.
