ITHACA, N.Y. — Sixteen members of the Cornell women's rowing team have been named recipients of the 2026 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete Award, the organization announced last Friday (June 5).

The Big Red's honorees include seniors Eleanor Bijeau (Environment & Sustainability), Isabella Capelli (Hotel Administration), Fabia Emblem (Industrial and Labor Relations), Josie Moskovitz (Information Science), Grace Raab (Environmental Engineering), Emmy Tyrcha (Animal Science), and Olivia Weeldreyer (English/Psychology), juniors Chloe Darcy (Animal Science), Alexis Engman (Biological Sciences), Kyra McCarrick (Engineering), and Elise Rueppel (Environment & Sustainability), and sophomores Ilaria Costello (Engineering), Alex Fazler (Engineering), Amelia King (Biological Sciences), Annie Koch (German Studies), and Charlotte Langlois (Public Policy).

The CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate excellence in both the classroom and on the water. To qualify, student-athletes must hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have competed in at least 75 percent of the team's spring races in an NCAA-eligible boat, or have competed in an NCAA boat at their conference or national championship. This year's 1,174 honorees across all divisions averaged a 3.59 grade-point average.

"Balancing the demands of collegiate rowing and academics requires tremendous commitment, discipline, and support," said CRCA Executive Director Janet Raymer. "These scholar-athletes have demonstrated excellence not only in competition, but also in the classroom."
