ITHACA, N.Y. — Four Cornell student-athletes heard their names called at the 2026 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft presented by Capelli Sport on Thursday, Sept. 24. Three were from the men's lacrosse program and one was from the men's ice hockey team.
Midfielder
Jack Cascadden went in the first round, No. 15 overall, to the Georgia Swarm. Attackman
Bowie Horsman followed in the third round, No. 35 overall, to the San Diego Seals. Former Big Red attackman
Rory Graham '25 was taken in the sixth round, No. 62 overall, by Halifax. Men's hockey forward
Aiden Long, a standout junior box lacrosse player before arriving on East Hill, was selected in the fourth round, No. 43 overall, also by Halifax.
Cascadden, Horsman and Long are all still enrolled at Cornell and will suit up for the Big Red in 2026-27.
Jack Cascadden, Georgia Swarm (Round 1, No. 15 overall)
The reigning Ivy League Midfielder of the Year, Cascadden was listed by the NLL as a right-handed transition player. He was the highest Cornell selection in the draft.
Cascadden earned USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse Nike Media All-America honors as a senior in 2026. He was also a First Team All-Ivy pick. He won 178 of 284 faceoffs, a career-best .627 clip. He added four goals, four assists and 98 ground balls in 14 games. He won 15 or more faceoffs seven times, including a season-high 20 in Cornell's win at Dartmouth on April 18. He also scooped a season-best 15 ground balls in that game.
As a junior in 2025, Cascadden was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection and a Nike Inside Lacrosse Third Team All-American. He ranked first in the Ivy League and eighth nationally in faceoff percentage. He was also first in the league and fourth nationally with 8.56 ground balls per game. He played in all 19 games, winning 285 of 468 faceoffs and collecting 158 ground balls. He also scored 10 goals.
Across four seasons, Cascadden has totaled 333 ground balls, 19 goals and eight assists in 48 games. He earned All-Ivy Honorable Mention and Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors as a freshman in 2023.
Bowie Horsman, San Diego Seals (Round 3, No. 35 overall)
Horsman, a product of The Hill Academy, reunites with Seals head coach and general manager Patrick Merrill, who runs The Hill Academy, where Horsman served as senior captain in 2022.
Horsman appeared in five games as a senior in 2026 before a season-ending injury. He scored four goals on six shots, including a hat trick against Hobart on Feb. 24. He has played in 13 career games for the Big Red. Before Cornell, he served as assistant captain of the Brampton Excelsiors Junior A squad and was The Hill's 2022 Pride Award recipient.
Rory Graham, Halifax Thunderbirds (Round 6, No. 62 overall)
Graham played five seasons at Cornell from 2021 to 2025. The 2021 season was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He then spent his graduate year at Denver in 2026. With the Big Red, he appeared in 36 games. He scored a career-high three goals against Yale on May 5, 2023, and a man-up goal in a win over Yale in 2024. He scored twice against Syracuse in 2025.
At Denver, Graham made 13 appearances with nine starts on the Pioneers' top offensive midfield line. He totaled 10 goals and four assists. A native of Ontario, he helped St. Michael's College School to back-to-back provincial championships in 2017 and 2018.
Aiden Long, Halifax Thunderbirds (Round 4, No. 43 overall)
Long becomes one of the rare Big Red hockey players to be drafted into the NLL. He last played box lacrosse in 2024 with Orangeville as a transition player.
On the ice, Long was one of 12 Cornell skaters to play in all 34 games as a freshman in 2025-26. He recorded 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists. His plus-18 rating was third-best on the team. He had a season-high four points (1-3—4) at Quinnipiac on Feb. 20. He earned ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors on Jan. 5 after posting multiple points in both games of a sweep of Omaha.
Before Cornell, Long spent two seasons with the USHL's Madison Capitols, totaling 81 points in 119 games. He was Madison's finalist for the USHL's inaugural Gaudreau Award. He also represented Team Canada West at the 2022 World Junior "A" Challenge.
