NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The women's squash team earned an easy 9-0 win over St. Lawrence in the first round of the 2004 WISA Kurtz Cup and advances into the semifinals to meet Amherst on Saturday at noon. The Big Red improved to 4-8 with the victory.
Cornell earned 3-0 wins from top to bottom on the ladder as the No. 10 seed in the event. The squad will face No. 11 Amherst tomorrow. The winner of ther tourney finishes ninth in the country. The top eight teams in the nation are competing at Yale as well in the Howe Cup. Ivy foes Princeton, Harvard and Yale comprise three-fourths of the semifinals.
