ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and was never threatened in shutting out Princeton 44-0 on Friday evening at Schoellkopf Field. The Big Red piled up 484 yards of offense and limited the Tigers to 95 total yards in improving to 2-2 (2-1 CSFL), while Princeton fell to 0-4 (0-2 CSFL).

Timothy Bruhn led the way with 91 yards on 12 carries and a 23-yard second quarter touchdown run. He also completed 2-of-5 passes for 53 yards and a 13-yard touchdown pass to Chris Latimer in the third quarter. He relieved Elliott Corey, who passed for 101 yards on 2-of-4 attempts, hitting on long touchdown passes of 54 yards to
Upal Sarker and 47 yards to D.J. Schiavetta in the first quarter of play.
Matthew Pierce and
Daniel Rowoth each had rushing touchdowns in the victory.
Defensively,
Colin Lounsberry had a team-high six tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, while Jim Burger had five tackles, a blocked kick, a fumble recover, an interception and a 14-yard tackle for loss. In all, Cornell forced six turnovers (four fumbles, two interceptions), blocked a punt for a safety and registered nine tackles for loss.
Andrew Gabriele was all over the field in defeat for the Tigers, making 16 tackles, forcing a fumble and registering a pair of tackles for loss, while John Wolfe blocked two kicks, intercepted a pass and had eight total tackles. Freshman quarterback Ned Moffat was an ironman as well, carrying the ball 17 times and completing 7-of-20 passes for 71 yards. Reid Fritz averaged 41.2 yards on his eight punt attempts with a long kick of 59 yards and pinned Cornell inside its own 20-yard line three times. The Tigers were 0-of-11 on third-down conversions.
Cornell will head to Penn on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. for its next contest.
