ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red men's polo team won the Eastern Regional final with a 21-20 nail-biter victory over Connecticut on Sunday at the Oxley Equestrian Center. Bobby Harvey and Max Constant were named to the all-tournament team, as the Big Red has qualified for the National Tournament. Cornell improves to 14-4 for the season.

The Huskies came out strong in the first chukker and took a 5-3 lead. In the second, a UConn player scored a two point goal from the field, and Constant answered with one his own. The Huskies followed with another two pointer to take back the lead, and moved out to a 14-8 advantage going into the second half.

The Big Red regrouped and cut the Huskies' lead to one by the end of the third chukker. Connecticut fought on and pulled out to a two goal advantage with about four and a half minutes left. Cornell rallied and took the lead for the first time with two minutes left in the match. Once more UConn tied the score, but with a little more than a minute left on the clock, Rich Wiedel took the ball into the left corner and worked it all the way down the arena to score and put Cornell ahead 21-20. Wiedel then turned to defensive play to make a save and cleared the ball to secure the Big Red's victory.

Constant led the team with 12 goals, while Harvey had three.

The Big Red will play host to Maryland on March 27, for a 7:30 p.m. match.
