Softball Finds Success at Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The Big Red softball team picked up two wins on Wednesday afternoon with a victory over Manhattan, 2-1, and followed by playing past Colgate, 9-5. Cornell is 13-5 for the season and 3-1 at the Rebel Spring Games.

Against Manhattan, Cornell notched 10 hits. Alyson Intihar went 2-for-4. Senior Jessy Berkey was 2-for-3 and hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth to give Cornell the lead. Sophomore Ali Tomlinson earned the win with 10 strikeouts; she allowed five hits and walked one batter.

Sophomore Elizabeth Dalrymple earned the win against the Raiders in game two. She pitched all seven innings allowing five hits. Intihar was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Garvey was 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Cornell scored seven runs in the sixth inning. The Big Red scored nine runs on 10 hits.

The Big Red will play Wagner and Manhattan on Thursday.
