FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The storied career of Cornell senior Jeomi Maduka came to a close on Saturday as the Texas native finished 12th in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet closed with the Cornell women finishing tied for 64th place with two points, gained in Maduka's seventh-place showing in the long jump on Thursday.

On Saturday, Maduka got a mark on her first two jumps, but was 12th after the first three jumps of the finals qualifying and did not advance to the second set of three jumps. Her best effort was her first, as she cleared 41-8.75, well off her seasonal best. Still, Maduka had entered the competition ranked 11th and nearly met her pre-meet seeding.
