NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Amanda Mazzotta stopped 19 shots for her fourth straight shutout and Cornell got a power-play goal from Lauriane Rougeau as the Big Red scored a 1-0 victory over Yale on Saturday afternoon at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Conn. The win, coupled with Clarkson's 1-1 tie with Quinnipiac on Saturday afternoon, lifts Cornell into a tie with the Golden Knights atop the ECAC Hockey standings with one weekend left to play.

Rougeau scored the game's only goal on the power play with 34 seconds to play in the second period, and Cornell (13-8-6, 12-2-6 ECAC Hockey) held on for the fourth straight shutout, going 3-0-1 over that span. Mazzotta has now gone the last 261:38 without allowing a goal, last letting a puck past her in a loss to Clarkson on Jan. 30.

Along with the victory, the Big Red claimed its first-ever top-four finish in the ECAC Hockey standings with two games to play. Cornell has 30 points in league play, five more than fifth-place Quinnipiac, with just four points possible remaining.

Catherine White and Laura Fortino both assisted on Rougeau's game-winner. Cornell finished the night 1-for-2 on the power play while holding Yale off the board in five power-play chances.

For Yale (10-14-3, 8-11-1 ECAC Hockey), goaltender Jackee Snikeris stopped 46 shots in the losing effort.

The Big Red closes out the regular season next weekend when it plays host to Union and Rensselaer in a pair of ECAC Hockey games. Cornell will battle Rensselaer in a 7 p.m game at Lynah Rink on Friday before taking on Union on Saturday afternoon in a 4 p.m. contest.
