KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Cornell softball team swept a doubleheader from Augustana College (S.D.) on Sunday afternoon, earning a 5-4 win in 10 innings in game one, then earning a 17-11 slugfest triumph in game two. The Big Red improved to 9-1 on the year with the victory.

In game one, Elise Menaker scored from second base on a mishandled bunt attempt to plate the winning run in the 10th. She started off on second base as part of the international tiebreaker rule. She struck out 13 hittiers and allowed just six hits, including zero in extra innings. Shannon Crane had a two-run home run to highlight the Cornell offense.

In game two, the Big Red bats exploded for 17 runs, the sixth-most in a game in school history, and 17 hits, tied for ninth in a game. Alyson Intihar was 4-for-4 with a home run, while Elise Menaker was 3-for-5 with a double. For Intiher, it was her third career four-hit contest. Kristen Towne had two hits, including a homer, and Izzy Pines was 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Ali Tomlinson picked up the save out of the bullpen by allowing just one run in the final 2.2 innings.
