ITHACA, N.Y. – The Big Red men's tennis team had a wildly successful day, as it blanked Fordham, Monmouth and NJIT at the Reis Tennis Center. Cornell, which did not drop a single set on the day, was led by Zhongming Chen and Chris Song, who won singles matches against all three opponents, while Jeremy Feldman picked up singles wins against Monmouth and NJIT to go along with three doubles wins with his partner, Andy Gauthier. The doubles pair of Evan McElwain and Mirza Klis also defeated teams from all three schools, while each picked up one singles victory.

“Today was a great way to start the season,” said Tony Bresky, the Richard Savitt and Stephen Weiss Head Coach of Men's Tennis. “We were able to get a lot of guys in for some competitive matches. To go three matches without losing a set is an impressive start, especially for our freshmen who saw their first dual match action. I think all of the work we have put in from a conditioning standpoint paid off and it was good to see our doubles teams play some good tennis. We'll be able to put in another good week of practice before play in the national indoor qualifier next weekend.”
