ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's and women's swimming and diving teams went wire-to-wire in winning Ithaca College Invitational this weekend at the Ithaca Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. The women's team finished with 1,975 points overall, with the next closest competitor at 1,316. The men had a similar margin of victory, scoring 1,996 points with the runner-up 1,401.5.

Cornell visited South Hill for the first-ever Ithaca Invitational. Although the meet was not trials and finals, there were four sessions throughout the weekend. The setup of the meet was similar to what the Big Red will see at the Ivy Championships in February and March. The swimmers got to take a chance at the 400 IMs and the 1650 frees, which are events that aren't typically swum in dual meets. The divers also had a bit of a new experience, with 11 dives on each board instead of the usual 6.

Since Ithaca's facility just officially opened this fall, all swimming event winners became both meet and pool record holders. The Big Red took came through with wins in the following events (in order of the meet):
