ITHACA, N.Y. –
Rob Pannell has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week, as was announced this morning by the conference office. It is the third straight Player of the Week honor for the Big Red as Cornell has taken the award in 6-of-8 weeks so far this season.
Pannell was instrumental in helping the Big Red upset No. 1 Syracuse on April 12, registering three goals and three assists against one of the top defensive teams in the nation. Of his six points, five came in the first half, as Cornell built a decisive 7-2 advantage. Pannell registered the game-winning goal and also scored the final goal of the game. The junior attakcman also picked up four ground balls and caused one turnover.
Pannell, a six-time Ivy League Player of the Week selection, has earned the award four times this season en route to leading the nation with 5.5 points per game.
No. 3 Cornell is back in action this weekend looking to win the outright Ivy League title when it travels to Brown to take on the Bears on Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m.
