Late Comeback Comes Up Short, Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Princeton

ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 12 Princeton used a seven-goal run to close the first half of play and then held off a furious comeback attempt by the Big Red women's lacrosse team to take a 15-10 victory this afternoon at Schoellkopf Field. The Tigers improved to 5-3 overall (2-0 Ivy), while Cornell slipped to 3-6 on the year (1-3 Ivy).

Jessi Steinberg tallied four goals for the Big Red, three of which came in the second half, while Katie Kirk found the back of the net twice. Libby Johnson was the only other Cornell player with multiple points, finishing with one goal and two assists.

Princeton's Sarah Lloyd matched Steinberg's performance with four goals, while Charlotte Davis, Lizzy Drumm and Cassie Pyle tallied two goals apiece. In net, Erin Tochihara stopped 10 shots to pick up the win.
