ITHACA, N.Y. -- On Senior Day, the Cornell gymnastics team again scored high, posting a 191.275 in a strong meet against Rutgers, Eastern Michigan and Temple on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Gymnasium. Cornell had a pair of individual top five finishes in the hotly contested meet.

The Big Red posted its second consecutive score of 191.000 or better as it heads toward championship season.

Lexi Schupp had a strong day individually with Cornell's top score in two events and the second-highest score in a third. Mackenzie Sato had the top individual finish in fifth place with a strong 9.725.

Melanie Jorgensen placed fifth on bars with a 9.700, while Schupp was seventh with her 9.675.

Cornell's top finisher on vault was Lexi Schupp, whose 9.6 was 11th. Schupp also was good for eighth on beam. Maia Vernacchia (ninth, 9.625) and Melanie Standridge (ninth, 9.625), as well as McKenna Archer (11th, 9.575), also had strong efforts on beam.
