ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell head polo coach
David Eldredge earned his 850th career win, and like many of the others, this one was never in doubt. The Big Red led 11-0 after the first chukker, 20-1 at the half and cruised to a 32-3 win over Skidmore on Friday evening at Oxley Equestrian Center. Cornell improved to 9-2 on the season.
The Cornell women opened the spring semester the way they ended the fall semester, with a win.
Devin Cox and
Anna Winslow were rejoined by
Kailey Eldredge as the starters for the Big Red. The women opened up an 11-0 lead after one. The lead got to 12 before the Thoroughbreds tallied their first goal, but Cornell ran off the final eight in succession to go into halftime leading 20-1. Winslow tallied seven, Â
Kailey Eldredge had six and Cox scored five to end their night. From there, Beth Lebow, Maddy Olberg and
Emma Eldredge took over for the third chukker. Staying right in tune, the ladies outscored their opponent 8-1 to head into the fourth up 28-2.
Emma Eldredge added five in thte chukker and gave way to
Elena Wicker in the fourth. The Big Red cruised home with the 32-3 final score. Wicker and Olberg each added three goals and Lebow scored once, while the ponies were credited with a pair of goals.

David Eldredge improved his career record to 850
