The contest was a game of runs, with Cornell jumping out to several large leads only to see Dartmouth battle back. The Big Red finally managed to put the game away with just over 13 minutes remaining in the contest.

Cornell final push came after some hot shooting from the Big Green led to a 14-4 run that tied the game at 48-48. Five consecutive points by Kerri Moran restored the lead to Cornell, as Moran broke the stalemate with a pair of made free throws. On the ensuing inbounds pass, Stephanie Long came up with a steal and fed Moran, who made the layup while getting fouled and then converted the free throw to complete the traditional three-point play.

On Dartmouth's next trip down the court Marshall blocked Zimmer's shot and Long came up with the rebound and started the break the other way before feeding DiMagno for the layup. After another defensive stop, DiMagno knocked down two free throws to make it a 57-48 game with just over 10 minutes to play.

Toskovic put back an offensive board to stop the Cornell run but back-to-back buckets from DiMagno pushed Cornell's lead to 63-55 with 6:30 to play. Szabo hit a trey to temporarily steal some momentum back for the Big Green but a driving layup by Megan LeDuc forced Dartmouth to take a 30-second time out.

Schmidt hit an elbow jumper out of the time out, but nine straight points by Cornell, including five from DiMagno and four from Christine Kline made it a 15-point game with just under three minutes to play and Cornell rolled to the 78-59 victory.

The game started as a back and forth battle with Marshall and Aston keeping the Big Red in the contest early on. The teams traded baskets over the opening five minutes before back-to-back baskets by Szabo put Dartmouth up, 12-8, at the 14:20 mark. From there, the Big Red scored nine unanswered points to take its second lead of the contest. The run opened with a pair of made free throws by DiMagno and featured four points from Aston.

Cornell pushed its lead to 10 points (24-14) thanks to big 3-pointer from Shelby Lyman and a layup from Marshall and held the double-digit lead for the next three minutes before the home team began to slowly chip away.

Three consecutive Big Green buckets made it a four-point contest (30-26) but Cornell closed the half strong, as Lyman hit a trey with just eight seconds remaining in the first stanza to send the visitors into the intermission with the 36-30 lead.

The first two minutes of the second half was all Long, who opened the half with a jumper and then knocked down consecutive 3-pointers to restore the double-figure lead to Cornell (44-34).
