ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell gymnastics team will look to continue its march toward qualifying for the USAG national meet as a team when it welcomes Rutgers to Teagle Gymnasium on Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m.
The Big Red enters the team's second home matchup with the sixth-highest team average among the USAG qualifiers. Cornell's season average of 190.275 is clear of Temple (190.160) and Bridgeport (189.550), two other teams in qualifying position. The Scarlet Knights rank 30th nationally with their team average of 194.615.
Cornell has been one of the most consistent scoring teams nationwide over its first seven meets and has been between 189.575 and 191.925 each of the last six meets.

Paul Beckwith's squad placed fourth at last weekend's Ivy Classic at Brown, the first time in 10 years it didn't rank in the top two. Cornell had a solid 190.025, but was edged out by both Yale and Penn as the home Bears easily took first. Senior
Melanie Jorgensen won her second individual uneven bars title at the meet with a 9.800 to highlight the team's efforts.
