ITHACA, N.Y. – Freshmen
Colin Sinclair and
Chris Vrabel both won singles and doubles matches, and the men's tennis team earned a big victory Saturday with a 5-2 decision over 50
th-ranked Nebraska at Reis Tennis Center.
Juniors
Sam Fleck and
Jason Luu rounded the winning doubles teams for the Big Red, which was also leading in the unfinished third doubles match.
Sophomore
Stefan Vinti won a first-set tiebreaker, then cruised to win his No. 2 singles match. Vrabel also won in straight sets at the No. 5 spot, leaving the Big Red just one point from clinching the match.
Sinclair then rallied to win his match at No. 6 to lock it up for the Big Red. Freshman
Bernardo Casares Rosa then wrapped up the match with a three-set victory at No. 3.
Cornell hits the road next weekend with a trip to Virginia Commonwealth and Old Dominion.
