The 59th-ranked men's tennis team stretched its winning streak to four matches this weekend with a pair of victories over No. 28 Virginia Commonwealth and Old Dominion.

On Saturday against the Monarchs, the Big Red started out by capturing the doubles point without dropping a match. The No. 3 tandem of freshman
Bernardo Casares Rosa and junior
Alex Sidney made quick work of their opponents, 8-3, then junior
Sam Fleck and freshman
Chris Vrabel clinched the opening point at No. 1 with an 8-5 victory.

Sophomore
Stefan Vinti continued to roll along at the No. 2 spot in the singles lineup, dropping just four games in his straight-set victory. Vrabel had the same result at the No. 6 position and junior
Jason Luu was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at No. 5 to give the Big Red the four points it needed to close out the match.

The Big Red also led the two unfinished matches, which were both in the third set.

On Saturday, the Big Red rallied for a 4-3 victory against the nationally ranked Rams by taking the final two singles matches. Luu tied the match at 3 with his victory at No. 5 singles, prevailing in a first-set tiebreaker before wrapping up the match with a 6-3 win in the second set. Vrabel then closed out the match by winning a third-set tiebreaker.
