ITHACA, N.Y. – The Big Red volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Seton Hall this afternoon on the second day of the Cornell Invitational. The Pirates won 25-20, 25-15, 25-14. The Big Red will be back in action this evening when it takes on Loyola University-Chicago at 7 p.m.
Cornell (4-5) was led by
Emily Wemhoff's eight kills, while
Alyssa Phelps finished with six kills, five assists, three digs and two block assists. Freshmen setters
Lauren Donnelly and
Gabby Goodall finished with nine and five assists, respectively, and sophomore libero
Chelsea Sincox had a team-high eight digs.
Seton Hall (5-6) was led by Amanda Hansen's 10 kills, while Abby Thelen and Kacey Richards combined for a .545 hitting percentage, going 15-3-22. Setter Sara Connell handed out 23 assists and libero Tessa Fournier finished with a match-high nine digs.
The Cornell Invitational continues with Seton Hall taking on Binghamton at 5 p.m.
