NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Senior
Reut Odinak and sophomore
Emma Uible won matches in the final rotation, but the women's squash team came up on the short end of a 7-2 decision against Yale on Saturday in the consolation semifinals of the Howe Cup.
Competing in the top flight of the College Squash Association's national championships for an eighth consecutive year, Cornell (9-9) will play against Columbia in the seventh-place match at 9 a.m. Sunday at Brady Squash Center. The Big Red entered the weekend ranked eighth in the country, and cannot fall any further by season's end — just move up to seventh with a victory on Sunday.
Uible's victory was her team-leading 11th of the season, coming in four sets. Odinak never trailed in her four-set win at No. 7 and her fellow senior co-captain,
Olivia Wherry, also won the No. 10 match.
