ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's squash team rolled to an 8-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Belkin International Squash Courts.
Cornell (7-4, 2-2) won all three matches on the showcase court in three sets. In addition to sophomore
Margaux Losty's sweep at No. 3, freshman
Hannah Scherl also won in three sets at No. 9. Senior co-captain
Reut Odinak never trailed at No. 6, and the Big Red stormed out to a 3-0 lead after the first rotation.
The next rotation was a similar story, clinching the match before Dartmouth (3-7, 0-4) mustered its lone point. The victory helped Cornell defending its standing as the eighth-ranked team in the nation by the College Squash Association, keeping the Big Red ahead of the Big Green in late-season positioning for the Howe Cup later this month.
Cornell faces a big test at 11 a.m. Sunday, when it hosts defending national champion and current No. 1. The Big Red then wraps up the doubleheader by taking on 25th-ranked William Smith later that afternoon.
