Mariko Iinuma clinched the doubles point, then both went on to win their respective singles matches in the women's tennis team's 5-2 victory over Connecticut on Sunday morning at East Hartford Tennis Club.

Madison Stevens for a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. Iinuma and Shah then won at No. 2 to give Cornell a 1-0 lead. Iinuma and Shah are now 6-2 in doubles play this season.
The top four singles matches were all decided in straight sets. Senior
Marika Cusick (No. 1) was the first to wrap up her victory, then junior
Lizzie Stewart made it 3-0 from the No. 4 spot. Shah clinched the match at No. 3 to go to 6-1 on the season from that position.
Cornell (5-4) returns home for its next six matches, including its final five non-league tilts. The stretch starts with a busy three-match weekend, when the Big Red hosts Penn State at 10 a.m. Saturday, then takes on Stony Brook and Niagara in a doubleheader next Sunday.
