ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's squash team started its season in strong fashion on Saturday with an 8-0 sweep of Williams at Belkin International Squash Courts.
The Big Red was particularly dominant at the bottom of the lineup, where
Lucy Martin (No. 6),
Steph Tan (No. 7) and
Samira Chatrathi (No. 8) all winning comfortably in three games.
Madison Miles (No. 2) provided the other sweep for Cornell.
Lauren Leizman (No. 4) survived a marathon to stave off her opponent's rally from two games down and win in the fifth, 15-13.
In its fifth straight year of winning an opening-weekend match against, Cornell improved its all-time record against Williams to 13-9.
