Men's Track and Field Set To Host Marc Deneault Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men's track and field team hosts the Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday in Barton Hall. This marks the final home indoor meet of the season.
 
The meet begins with the women's 3000m at 10:15 a.m. and will be followed by the men's portion of the event.
 
Last Friday, the Big Red competed at the Fastrack Invitational. Senior Austin Lyons continued his undefeated season in the 60m hurdles, running at least 8.00 for the 10th time this season.
 
Freshman Morgan Cupp captured the victory in his 3k heat with a new personal best of 8:43, closing in 62 seconds for his last 400m. Senior Roc Johnson also won his race, crushing a 29 second last lap to cross the line in a new mile PR of 4:20.07.
 
In the pole vault Johannes Stromhaug and Andrew Barlow were the top two collegiate finishers. Stromhaug set a new personal best in the pole vault for the fourth consecutive meet, clearing 16-5.
 
The Big Red also competed in the Sunday Invitational last weekend. Cornell tallied 13 top-three finishes to go along with four event wins and four ECAC/IC4A qualifiers.
 
Cornell returns to action next week for Heps, which will take place on Jan. 23 through Jan. 24 in Boston.
