Polo Teams Split At Kentucky, Ready For Final Road Weekend

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell polo teams split a weekend set at Kentucky this past weekend in the final run-up to the Northeast Regionals. The men held off the Wildcats 11-5, while the women dropped a defensive battle, 7-6.

The men won their fifth straight to improve to 12-2 on the season and will hit the road for the final time in the regular season when they visit Western Ontario for a pair of games this weekend. The Big Red is 2-0 against the Mustangs already this season, with 12-6 and 22-16 victories. Cornell's trip to London, Ontario will see the two teams meet on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., before facing off for a second time on Saturday, March 2 at 12 p.m.

The women dropped their second straight with a one-goal defeat at the hands of Kentucky. The Wildcats avenged a 12-8 Big Red win earlier this season at the Virginia Fall Invitational. At 10-7 on the season, Cornell will attempt to tune up for regionals when it visits Connecticut on Saturday, March 2 at 7 p.m.
