ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's team improved to 7-1 at home with a Saturday afternoon win at Oxley Equestrian Center, while the women dropped a pair of contests during a busy polo weekend. The men improved to 9-2 with its comfortable 21-5 victory over Yale's Interscholastic team, while the women dropped matchups to Yale's Interscholastic squad (17-9) and to Connecticut (17-13).
In Saturday's men's game, Lorenzo Masias led the Big Red scorer with 11 goals and
Jed Cogan added seven as Cornell won its second straight to open the semester. Friday saw a 6-6 halftime score go awry after the break, as Yale's interscholastic squad outscored the home team 11-3, including 7-0 in the third chukker. Cornell's reserves saw action on Saturday against the Huskies, dropping a tight contest.
The Big Red will be back in action on Friday and Saturday against regional foe Skidmore, The men will play Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:30, and the women play 24 hours later, with both matches at Oxley Equestrian Center.
