Jimmy Boeheim scored a career-high 31 points and senior
Matt Morgan scored 24, but Robert Morris rallied from a double digit second half deficit and ended Cornell's season with a 98-89 overtime victory in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. The Big Red closed its campaign with a 15-16 record.
Morgan added six assists and four rebounds to close his career with 2,333 points in his historic career. The No. 2 career scorer in Ivy League history made 8-of-13 shots overall, including three 3-pointers, and hit the game-tying bucket with eight seconds left in regulation to send the game into an extra session. Once there, Matty McConnell scored 11 consecutive points for the Colonials, including three 3-pointers, and the home team advanced to the second round of the postseason tourney.
Boeheim scored 24 of his points in the first half, ending the night 14-of-20 from the floor and chipping in seven rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Senior

Thurston McCarty scored seven points apiece and
Steven Julian had six points, four rebounds, six assists and a blocked shot in his final collegiate game. The Big Red shot 59 percent from the floor for the game, but Robert Morris' offensive rebounding (19) and Cornell's 20 turnovers proved to be a toxic formula.
Josh Williams led three 20-point scorers with 35, with McConnell adding 27 and Jon Williams posting 20. Yannis Mendy had a game-high 11 rebounds for RMU, who held a 40-32 advantage on the glass.
Robert Morris scored the first five points of overtime, but after Boeheim hit a driving bucket to cut the deficit to three, McConnell hit consecutive treys and Cornell wasn't able to recover in the final two minutes.
Cornell led for more than 34 minutes of regulation, but second chance points and Cornell miscues kept the home team hanging around. The Colonials took their first lead with 6:53 left and Cornell kept itself alive. A turnover and a missed free throw in the final 30 seconds gave the Big Red an opportunity to even the game up, and Morgan did just that in the final 10 seconds. RMU got a pair of shots in the final eight seconds to earn the win, but missed both to send the game to overtime.
The Big Red led by as many as 12 in the first half, but it was a 40-37 lead at the break behind 23 points by a red-hot Boeheim. After hitting 9-of-10 shots in the regular season finale win over Dartmouth, he connected on 10-of-12 first half shots, including both 3-pointers, to lead all scorers. Cornell shot 57 percent overall and outrebounded Robert Morris 19-14 over the first 20 minutes, but the Colonials took advantage of nine Big Red turnovers to outscore the visitors 16-4 off miscues to keep the home team in the game. A 35-footer by Jon Williams at the horn sent RMU into the break riding a momentum shift.
Cornell scored the game's first nine points and Boeheim had eight points in the first 3:50 of the game to stake the visitors to a lead and never trailed in the half. Morgan scored eight points and had three assists as just five players scored in the first half for Cornell. Robert Morris was led by Josh Williams and McConnell with nine apiece and Jon Williams with eight.

• Boeheim made 23-of-30 field goals in his final two games of the season.
• Boeheim's 14 made field goals ranks as the 12th-most in a single game in school history.
• The Big Red is now 2-7 all-time in postseason games.

Matt Morgan ended his senior year with a school record 687 points.
• Morgan ended the night with 2,333 points, 743 field goals made, 1,580 field goals attempted, 885 3-point field goals attempted and 514 free throws made - all Cornell career records.
• Morgan also closed his career with 61 20-point games (a school record).

Riley Voss had five assists and zero turnovers, giving him 24 assists and seven turnovers on the season.
• With 2,149 points on the season, Cornell had the third-highest point total in school history.
• Cornell also ranked among the top season marks in 3-pointers made (fourth, 243), field goals made (seventh, 754), assists (fifth, 453) and blocked shots (eighth, 107).
