Derraugh, Bourbonnais Take Home Yearly League Honors

ITHACA, N.Y. – Doug Derraugh and Jaime Bourbonnais of the Cornell women's ice hockey program were recognized with by ECAC Hockey with yearly awards at its annual awards banquet Friday night at the Moakley House. Derraugh was named the league's coach of the year, while Bourbonnais was tabbed the best defenseman.
 
This marks Derraugh's fourth ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year award. He previously earned the distinction in 2011, 2013 and 2017. The 14th year head coach guided the Big Red to its first regular season league championship since 2013, as it posted a league record of 17-3-2. Derraugh, guided the Big Red to a 4-2 record against ranked opponents this season, picked up his 250th career win with a 4-0 shutout over No. 9 St. Lawrence on Nov. 30.
 
Bourbonnais, who was named an all-ECAC Hockey and all-Ivy League first team member, is second in the nation amongst defensemen in points per game with an average of 1.04. The Mississauga, Ontario, native is also fourth in the nation in both assists per game (.71) and goals per game (.32). The junior defenseman has notched eight multipoint games this season. Additionally Bourbonnais leads the team in plus/minus (+32).
