Senior Kaitlin Green Claims USAG Title On Beam To Cap Career

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Cornell senior Kaitlin Green became a two-time USAG Collegiate Nationals beam champion, registering a meet-best 9.900 to claim her third overall event crown on Sunday afternoon at Bridgeport's Wheeler Recreation Center. Green was joined as a USAG All-American on the event by teammate Izzy Herczeg.

Green, already the first Cornell gymnast to win multiple USAG Collegiate National titles, closed her career with a third. The Safety Harbor, Fla., native won on both beam and bars in 2017. Green matched her own school record that she shared with Melanie Standridge at 9.900 with her brilliant routine, holding a .025 lead over runner-up Anna Kaziska of Southeast Missouri State. A two-time NCAA regionals participant and ECAC Specialist of the Year, she closed her career with a fifth USAG All-America nod.

Herczeg placed ninth overall on beam with her score of 9.775. She is now a two-time USAG All-American, earning the accolade last spring on floor.
