Chayse Ierlan Three-peats As Ivy League Rookie of the Week

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell's Chayse Ierlan has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, and third week in a row, as was announced this afternoon by the conference office.  He is the first Big Red player to win an Ivy award in three consecutive weeks since 2014 when Christian Knight was also named the Rookie of the Week on March 10, 17 and 24.

Ierlan was instrumental in Cornell's victory over Princeton on Saturday as the freshman goalie made 12 saves, including four in the crucial fourth quarter, as the Big Red fought back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Tigers, 14-13. His final save of the day came as time expired to preserve the victory and secure a spot for Cornell in the Ivy League Tournament.

The Victor, N.Y. native has seen action in 12 games this season and has posted double-digit saves in all 10 games in which he has faced at least 10 shots. He enters the Ivy League Tournament ranked 20th in the nation in save percentage (.538) and 27th overall in saves per game (11.75).

Cornell continues its season this weekend when it travels to New York City to take on the No. 2 seed Yale in the Ivy League Tournament semifinal at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3.
