8/22/2019 2:00:00 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- It will be easier than ever to follow Cornell football when it kicks off the 2019 season in September. Nine of the Big Red's 10 games this coming season will be part of ESPN's Family of Networks, with one contest broadcast on ESPNU and eight more part of the ESPN+ service.

The Big Red will host defending Ivy League champion Princeton on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU as part of the Ivy League's ESPN football package. The contest will be one of seven games that will appear on ESPN linear networks during the 2019 season.

Cornell's remaining four games and its final four road contests of the season will all be available on ESPN+. Similar to Netflix and Hulu, fans are able to buy a subscription to ESPN+, which will be completely separate from their cable/satellite bill. The cost for ESPN+ is $4.99/month and $49.95/year. ESPN+ is available on all of ESPN's existing platforms: website, mobile app and OTT (Roku, Chromecast, FireTV, etc.) app. A subscription will also allow you to watch all ESPN+ content, including select games from MLB, MLS, NHL, the UFC and more, in addition to all Ivy League ESPN+ and other original programming.

With the continued comprehensive coverage as part of the Ivy League on ESPN, Cornell football contests will not be available live on WHCU-870 AM this season. The broadcast team, however, remains intact with Barry Leonard back for his 25th season in the play-by-play chair and his 26th overall in the booth and Buck Briggs '76 opening his 17th year as the color analyst as part of Cornell's home team on ESPN+.

The 43rd annual Tompkins County Sports Council Football Luncheons will commence on Thursday, Sept. 12. The weekly luncheons are held each Thursday at 11:45 a.m. through Nov. 14 at the Clarion Inn at 2310 North Triphammer Road. The cost is $125 for the 10 Thursdays. Each week the head football coaches at Ithaca High School, Ithaca College and Cornell University will discuss the previous week's games, and give a scouting report on the future opponent.  Head football coaches at other Tompkins County high schools will make guest appearances throughout the fall. Various winter sport coaches will also make guest visits.

In addition, all home games will continue to utilize SIDEARM stats to provide a live feed of the game's official statistics that you can view on web or mobile.

Cornell opens the 2019 campaign at Marist on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. before beginning Ivy play the following weekend at Yale. The Big Red's home slate kicks off with the Homecoming contest against Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
