1/14/2020 1:00:00 PM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from Monday's 70-33 win over Elmira.

Individuals

  • Riley Voss joins Mike Millane (1987 at Hamilton), Zeke Marshall (1994 vs. Brown) and Louis Dale (2009 vs. Toledo) as the only players in school history to post at least 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in a single game.
  • Over his last three games, freshman Greg Dolan is averaging 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 67 percent from the floor, 50 percent from 3-point range and 63 percent from the free-throw line.
  • Entering that stretch, Dolan had just eight points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals total in his career.
  • In two games without injured leading scorer Jimmy Boeheim, Voss is averaging 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals while turning the ball over just once in 49 minutes of action.
  • Terrance McBride posted his second career game with at least seven assists and two or fewer turnovers, matching those stats earlier this season at Bryant.
  • With a career high nine points to go along with four rebounds, sophomore Kobe Dickson is now averaging 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds over his last four contests while shooting 63 percent from the field (10-of-16).
  • Freshman Marcus Filien had a career high seven points and two steals, surpassing his previous career total of six points.

Team

  • The three 3-pointers allowed over a two-game stretch are the fewest since also surrendering three total in games vs. Delaware (1 on Nov. 17, 2010) and vs. St. Bonaventure (2 on Nov. 19, 2010).
  • With 22 assists and just nine turnovers against Elmira, the Big Red posted its third game with at least 20 assists and single-digit turnovers this season after meeting that threshold just 12 times previously in school history.
  • The team's 12 steals are the most in a regulation game since registering 12 at Brown on Feb. 5, 2016 - Cornell had 14 earlier this season in an overtime contest at Coppin State).
  • The 22 assists make it the second straight contest Cornell had 20 or more assists since posting 22 vs. Robert Morris in last season's CIT game and 20 in the season-opening win over Binghamton to kick off 2019-20.
  • The 13 second half points scored by Elmira was the fewest in  any half by a Cornell opponent since the Big Red limited Alfred State to 12 in the second half of a 107-29 victory on Jan. 10, 2015.
  • Since the introduction of the 3-point shot to college basketball in 1986, the 33 points by Elmira is tied for the second-lowest opponent total (33 at NJIT on Jan. 15, 2008).
  • The Big Red is 7-1 under head coach Brian Earl when holding opponents under 60 points and is 33-13 when it shoots a higher percentage from the floor.
  • In five home games, Cornell has been credited with 93 assists (18.6 per game) against just 40 turnovers (8.0 per game).
