ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell Athletics and the Cornell Hockey Association will host a 50th Anniversary Reception for the 1970 NCAA champion men's hockey team on Saturday. The reception, which is open to all alumni, fans, friends and the Lynah Faithful, will be part of the weekend full of activities to honor and celebrate the program's second national championship and the only team in men's hockey history to win an NCAA title after an undefeated season with no ties.
The 50th Anniversary Reception will be held from 5-6:45 p.m. Saturday in the G10 room of the Biotechnology Building, which neighbors Lynah Rink to the northwest. There will be hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar for the cost of $15 per person, or $10 for children ages 12 and under. Registration for the event can be found
here.
The weekend will start off Friday, when the reunion group will be joined
Mike Schafer, for the CHA's Coaches' Club lunch in advance of the home game against Dartmouth. The 1970 team alumni will then have breakfast with the current Big Red squad and watch the team's game day skate on Saturday in preparation of another Ivy League game that night against Harvard. The team will then be honored with an on-ice ceremony during the first intermission of the game against the Crimson.
