1/8/2020 11:30:00 AM

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Here are some notes from Tuesday's 100-68 win over Purchase College.

Individuals

  • Senior Josh Warren became the 39th player in school history to play in 100 career games.
  • His two blocked shots give him 50 for his career, good for No. 13 all-time in Cornell history.
  • Warren is the only players in school history to post 600 points, 300 rebounds, 200 assists and 50 steals in their career.
  • Both sophomore Dean Noll (21 points, previous high of 10) and freshman Greg Dolan (18 points, previous high of 10) both more than doubled their previous career scoring highs.
  • Over his last four games, Dolan is averaging 8.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 13.0 minutes per game while shooting 63 percent from the floor, 67 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
  • Junior Riley Voss posted a season high in points (12) and career highs in assists (six) and rebounds (six) in his first collegiate start.
  • Senior Noah Gear scored his first career collegiate points after joining the team as a walk-on this season.
  • Sophomore Kobe Dickson had his third consecutive game with at least five rebounds and is averaging 4.7 points and 5.3 rebounds while making 60 percent of his shots over that span.
  • Senior Terrance McBride has three consecutive double figure scoring games and has matched his career rebounding high of six three times in his last five outings.
  • Junior Bryan Knapp was a +36 in his 24 minutes of the court and was instrumental in limiting Purchase's leading scorer, Elijah Lott, to 12 points on 6-of-16 shooting, half his season scoring average.

Team

  • Cornell scored 100 points for the 24th time in school history (2,721 all-time games), including for the third time under head coach Brian Earl.
  • The Big Red's 63 second half points is two off the school record of 65 against Ursinus on Jan. 3, 2009 (first half).
  • The team was credited with 24 assists, tied for the 10th-most in school history and the program's highest total since having 28 in a Jan. 8, 2017 win over Fisher (Mass.).
  • Cornell's 37 made field goals are the 13th-most in a game in school history.
  • After holding Purchase to 0-for-10 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc, the Big Red held an opponent without a trey for the first time in 18 years and 521 games (Dec. 3, 2001 vs. Ithaca, 0-for-14).
  • It was just the seventh time since the 3-point line was instituted in 1986-87 that Cornell held an opponent without a made field goal from beyond the arc.
  • The Big Red had its first game with five double figure scorers since the 2017-18 season when Matt Morgan's 16 points led five on March 3, 2018 at Dartmouth, a win that clinched a trip to the Ivy League Tournament for Cornell.
  • The 33-point scoring margin in the second half is the second-biggest margin in school history, behind only a 54-12 difference (+42) in a 2014-15 win over Alfred State.
