STORYLINES
• A day after riding a wave of emotion past Ivy leader Princeton, the Cornell men's basketball team will attempt to claim its first sweep of a Princeton-Penn weekend in a decade when it meets Penn on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at Newman Arena.
• The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Barry Leonard and Eric Taylor '05 on the call.
• With the 1988 and 2010 Ivy League championship teams in attendance, the Big Red handed the Tigers their first Ivy loss with a 73-62 victory.
• The two title-winning teams were honored at halftime of the win, then celebrated at a postgame reception.
Jimmy Boeheim had 24 points and Josh Warren notched 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the wire-to-wire victory over the Tigers.
• Cornell brings a four-game home win streak into the contest and is 7-2 over its last nine Ivy contests dating back to last year.
• It's been a new year, new Big Red since the turning of the calendar, as Cornell is now 4-2 in 2020.
• Cornell's 5-13 overall start is a little deceiving, as it has lost five games by four points or less and a sixth against reigning Patriot League champ Colgate in a game it led by double digits in the second half.

ABOUT PENN:
• Penn is 11-7 on the season (3-2 Ivy) and owns a four-game win streak with all four victories coming by single digits.
• The Quakers are coming off a 76-67 triumph at Columbia on Saturday afternoon behind 24 points from AJ Brodeur and 16 more from Devon Goodman.
• Penn owns wins at Alabama and Providence, as well as victories over UCF and Long Beach State.
• Brodeur leads four double figure scorers at 17.3 points per game to go along with 8.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.0 steals.
• Jordan Dingle (14.1 ppg., 3.7 rpg., 2.4 apg.), Goodman (13.6 ppg., 4.1 rpg., 3.6 apg., 1.5 spg.) and Ryan Betley (12.4 ppg., 6.2 rpg., 1.2 apg., 1.0 spg.) are also averaging double figures.
• The Quakers are shooting 46 percent from the floor overall and are assisting on 15.1 baskets per outing.
• Former Big Red head coach Steve Donahue is in his fifth season at Penn and has won four Ivy titles between the two stops.

SERIES HISTORY VS. PENN:
Overall: Penn leads 157-75
In Ithaca, N.Y.: Penn leads 66-49
Current Streak: Penn, 1 game
Last Meeting: Penn won 68-50, 2/23/19 in Philadelphia, Pa.
Earl vs. Penn: 1-5
Series Notes: Series dates back to the 1903-04 season • the Big Red snapped an 11-game losing streak against Penn last season with a victory in Ithaca • the Quakers have won 14 of the last 16 meetings • prior to that, Cornell won 7-of-8 contests

A WIN OVER PENN WOULD:
• make the Big Red's record stand at 6-13 on the season and even its Ivy League record at 3-3.
• give Cornell a 5-3 record in 2020, including 5-0 at home.
• extend the Big Red's home win streak to five games.
• improve Cornell to 16-15 record in its last 31 Ivy regular season contests.
• narrow Penn's lead in the all-time series to 157-76.
• give Cornell its first sweep of a Penn-Princeton weekend since the 2009-10 season.
• be the 1,275th in program history (1,274-1,453 in 119 seasons, .467).

LAST TIME OUT:
• With the 1988 and 2010 Ivy League title teams in attendance, the Cornell men's basketball team put forth a championship effort.
• The Big Red scored the first six points of the night and led wire-to-wire, handing Ivy leader Princeton  its first conference loss with a 73-62 victory over the Tigers at Newman Arena.
• Junior Jimmy Boeheim scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds, senior Josh Warren registered his fourth career double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Terrance McBride was credited with 14 points and five assists.
• Cornell shot 49 percent from the floor on offense and forced 16 Princeton turnovers with 11 steals on defense.
• Jaelin Llewellyn led Princeton with 13 points and five rebounds, while both Richmond Aririguzoh and Ethan Wright scored 10 apiece.
• The loss snapped the Tigers' six-game win streak and was its first since prior to Christmas (Dec. 19 vs. Hofstra).

LAST TIME VS. PENN:
•  Matt Morgan scored 21 points, but Penn controlled the second half and salvaged a season split with Cornell, winning 68-50 at the Palestra.
• Penn rallied from a 32-30 halftime deficit by limiting the Big Red to 18 second half points on 30 percent shooting, including just 1-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc.
• Morgan scored 14 of his points in the first half, hitting double figures for the 77th consecutive game, extending his own school and Ivy record and moving to No. 14 in NCAA history.
• AJ Brodeur had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists and Devon Goodman scored 16, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.

NOTES TO KNOW:
• The Big Red's 11 steals vs. Princeton was the most in an Ivy game since collecting 12 in a 2016 contest at Brown.
• Junior Jimmy Boeheim has reached double figures in scoring in 13 straight contests.
• Over his last 10 games, senior Josh Warren is shooting .600 from the field (42-of-70) and his .510 field goal percentage for his career is ninth on the school's career chart.
• The Big Red is 7-2 in its last nine Ivy League home contests.
• Cornell has hit a 3-pointer in 877 consecutive games (12th-longest streak in Division I) dating back to a contest against Denison in the 1988-89 season opener (0-for-2). Since the 3-point shot came into effect in NCAA play during the 1986-87 season, the Big Red has hit at least one shot behind the arc in 923 of 927 games (6,038 3-pointers over that span).

UP NEXT: AT HARVARD
• The Big Red returns to the road starting on Friday, Feb, 14 for a Valentine's Day contest at Ivy preseason favorite Harvard at 7 p.m. at Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge, Mass.
• The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+.
• Cornell leads the all-time series 95-82, including sweeping the series last year against the 2019 Ivy champs.
• Those wins snapped a six-game skid against the Crimson.
• The Big Red holds a narrow 44-43 lead in games played in Cambridge.
