ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Cornell equestrian team opened up the 2021-22 season with not just one High Point Team title, but two, winning both of its weekend shows at RIT on Oct. 16-17 in Rochester, N.Y.

Tara Tremmel had a strong showing on Day One, finishing the day tied for the title of Reserve High Point Rider. She ultimately lost in a question-off, but that didn't take away from a pair of top-two finishes in her events for the day, as Tremmel won her limit fences class and placed second in her limit flat class.

In just her first show of the season, co-captain Talia Aley pointed out of pre-novice on Saturday after winning her class, moving up to show in novice on Sunday.

Additional Day One Highlights:

Tremmel's victory in limit fences and Aley's win in pre-novice on Saturday were two of five individual wins for the Big Red on Day One, as senior co-captain Anjali Velu captured a win in open fences, junior Katherine Philipp posted a victory in limit fences, and Ashley Ardila emerged victorious in introductory.

Bianca Garcia and Alexandra Miranda also had notable performances, with Garcia finishing second in intermediate fences and Miranda notching a pair of top-three showings in limit fences (second) and limit flat (third).

Additional Day Two Highlights:

In total, the Big Red collected 11 top-three finishes on Sunday en route to the title of High Point Team. Ardila carried her winning ways into Sunday, picking up a win in introductory for the second-straight day. Senior Hannah Braun joined Ardila in the winners' circle, finishing first in her pre-novice class.

Philipp had another successful day on Sunday, notching second place finishes in her limit fences and limit flat classes. Velu placed second in open fences, while senior Annaliese Hines finished second in limit flat.
