ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell equestrian team captured its third High Point Team title in just as many shows, winning its first home show of the season on Sunday, Oct. 24 at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

After finishing first in both her limit flat and limit fences classes, junior Katherine Philipp was named the Reserve High Point Rider of the show, placing second in the question-off. Philipp's victories in her events were just two of 10 individual wins for the Big Red on the day, with Cornell collecting 15 top-three finishes.

The Big Red dominated in the novice division, with seniors Catherine Thrasher, Indigo Pavlov, and Talia Aley all winning their classes. The individual victory marked the first of the year for Thrasher and Pavlov, and the first in the novice division for Aley, who competed in just her second show at the level after pointing out of pre-novice last weekend.

Junior Ashley Ardila is now three-for-three in introductory, picking up her third-straight win of the season. Senior Hannah Braun won her pre-novice class on Sunday and has now posted back-to-back wins after finishing first in the event at the second RIT show last Sunday.

Senior co-captain Anjali Velu captured her second win of the season in open fences, adding a runner-up showing in open flat.

Juniors Bianca Garcia and Alexandra Miranda each notched a victory and a pair of top-three finishes. Garcia won her intermediate fences class and added a third-place finish in intermediate flat, while Miranda emerged victorious in limit fences and placed second in limit flat.

The Cornell equestrian team will be off this weekend before hosting its second home show of the fall on Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.
