BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Cornell women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season over the weekend at the Buffalo Invitational, playing three hidden duals against teams from Buffalo, Syracuse/Niagara and St. John's. An inexperienced Big Red squad continued to show improvement under interim head coach Katie Zordani as the team prepares for the spring season.
 
Senior Valerie Ho and freshman Seychelle Balog each went 3-0 in singles over the weekend, while freshman Lan Mi, sophomore Jenny Wong and senior Khary Pryce went 2-1. Senior Maria Adiaconitei and junior Michelle Deng also recorded singles victories.
 
Ho defeated all three of her opponents in two sets, including Buffalo's Ambre Amat (7-5, 6-4), Niagara's Jaida Borg (6-1, 6-0) and St. John's Camila Ordonez (6-2, 6-3). Balog used a trio of two-set victories to defeat Niagara's Mercedes Velasco (6-0, 6-4), Niagara's Megan Gamble (6-1, 6-3) and St. John's Amaya Lopez (7-4(4), 6-1).
