ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's lacrosse alumni Jeff Teat '21 and Rob Pannell '13 both earned a spot on the Premier Lacrosse League's (PLL) All-Pro Teams, with Teat being named first team All-Pro attack and Pannell being tabbed second team All-Pro attack, the league announced Saturday afternoon.
The first team All-Pro selection for Teat comes less than a day after he was named the league's Rookie of the Year at the PLL's End of Season Awards Ceremony last night. Earlier this season, both Teat and Pannell were selected to the 2021 PLL All-Star game, with Pannell being chosen as a starter for the contest and Teat serving as a reserve.
In his first season in the PLL as a member of the Atlas LC, Teat's impact was immediate, as he finished the season with 32 points on 16 goals and 16 assists in just seven games. His 32 points was tied for second in the league, while his 16 assists was tied for third with none other than Pannell. His 16 goals also ranked among the top-10 in the league, sitting tied for eighth.
Teat helped the Atlas to a 6-3 regular season record, tied for first in the league with the Waterdogs. The Atlas, who earned the No. 2 seed, defeated the Cannons, 13-9 in the quarterfinal round of the PLL Playoffs before falling in the semifinals to the Chaos, 15-9. Teat registered a team-high three goals and an assist in the Atlas' quarterfinal victory over the Cannons, adding two goals and an assist against the Chaos.
In his second PLL season, and his first as a member of Redwoods LC, Pannell was a major offensive weapon just as he has been throughout the entirety of his professional career. Pannell finished the regular season tied for third in the league in assists (16) and fifth in points (29). He helped the Redwoods to a tie for third in the regular season PLL standings at 5-4 and the No. 4 seed for the playoffs. Although the Redwoods fell in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs to the Whipsnakes, 14-13, Pannell notched four points on a pair of goals and a pair of assists.
