NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Junior
Josh Lundmark was the Cornell golf team's top finisher over the weekend at the 45th annual Macdonald Cup, a 54-hole tournament at The Course at Yale. The Big Red finished 14th in team scoring.
Lundmark was tied for 36th overall with a 13-over-par total of 223, which was one stroke better than senior
Noah Schwartz (tied for 41st) and two clear of junior
Benjamin Choe (tied for 44th).
Choe had the Big Red's best round of the weekend with an opening loop of even-par 70 on Saturday morning, featuring 14 pars and a couple birdies on the par-4 seventh and 10th holes. Lundmark then had the squad's best score in the afternoon round with three birdies en route to a 1-over-par 71.
Cornell's best number in Sunday's final round came from freshman
Tyler Zimmer, who was competing as an individual for a second straight week. Zimmer had consecutive birdies on the third and fourth holes on his way to carding a 72, moving up to a 59th-place finish for the week.
The Big Red returns to the Empire State for its last two tournaments of the fall season, starting with next weekend's Binghamton Invitational at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin.
