ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell volleyball team lost 3-0 to Harvard on Friday, October 14. Freshman Eliza Konvicka tallied a team-high nine kills in the contest.

Harvard jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in set one, but the Big Red responded with 3-0 run including an ace from freshman Jordan Walker. Harvard rallied to tie the set at seven, and again at eight. The Crimson took a 10-8 lead, but the Big Red tallied back-to-back kills from Konvicka. Harvard then took a two-point lead that it only grew throughout the remainder of the set to win 25-19.

Cornell tallied the first point of set two, but did not lead again until 13-12 when Sammie Engel tallied a kill for the Big Red. Harvard responded with a 4-0 run to take a 16-13 lead. Cornell battled to tie the set at 16, but could not maintain the momentum, and Harvard pulled off a 25-21 lead.

The Big Red opened set three in strong fashion, taking the first and second points in back-to-back blocks. Harvard then took a 5-1 run to earn a 5-3 lead. The Crimson never gave up the lead and won set three, 25-15.

The Big Red next return to the court tomorrow evening, Saturday, October 15 at 5 p.m. Cornell will square off against Dartmouth in Newman Arena at Bartels Hall. Attendance at the match is free. For those at home, the match will be available to stream via ESPN+.
