Men's Heavyweight Rowing Returns From Head Of the Charles with Hardware

BOSTON, MASS. -- The Cornell heavyweight rowing team sent two boats to compete in the 4+ heavyweight races. The boat consisting of Max Zirkman (Cox), Adam Campain (Bow), Max KreutzelmanJackson Hardin, and Marko Djuranovic (Stroke) in Bow 1 finished second overall, 24 seconds behind the Peloton boat. In the collegiate category, the boat placed first with at time of 15:42.017.

The second Big Red heavyweight boat, consisting of rowers Topher Luzarraga (Cox), Finn Lynch (Bow), Jake Lawson, Charlie Bierden, Matteo Banducci (Stroke) placed seventh overall, sixth among collegiate-championship teams with a time of 15:53.983.

"This race gives us a great opportunity to judge our ability to make speed in comparison to GBR league and world," said the Spirit of '57 Director of Rowing/Head Coach of Heavyweight Rowing, Todd Kennett. "It is very exciting to have this chance."
