PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Cornell volleyball pulled the first two sets over Brown, but ultimately lost 3-2 in a five set battle on Saturday, October 29. Freshman

Nicole Mallus tallied a combined 28 kills.
Cornell came out storming in set one. The teams were tied through 4-4, but the Big Red notched three straight kills from Mallus to power a 4-0 run. Cornell maintained its lead for the remainder of the set closing out on a 7-2 run that included back-to-back aces by senior
Evan Reich.
Cornell took a quick lead to open set two, 2-1, but Brown found some momentum to stretch out a three point lead through 11-8. Cornell fought back to take the lead at 14-13. The Big Red never trailed again in set two, going on to win 25-21.
The Bears came back from a 2-0 deficit to claim set three, 25-16. Cornell built a lead after the final tie score of the set at 5-5 to take a lead as big as six at 11-5. Brown fought back to take the lead at 22-21, and closed out set four 25-22 to force a fifth.
It was all Bears in the fifth, as Brown closed out set five 15-5.

Following this weekend, the Big Red remain on the road with matches at Dartmouth and Harvard. First serves are set for 7 p.m. on Friday, November 4 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, respectively. The matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
