Cornell scored the first point of set one on a
Sammie Engel kill. Princeton responded with three straight points and then controlled the remainder of the set, winning 25-9.
Cornell found a spark in set two, taking the lead twice at 15-14 and 16-15. Princeton strung together a three point run to take an 18-16 lead that the Tigers held through the remainder of the set to win 25-29.
Set three opened with a 4-1 Cornell run. Princeton battled back to a 4-4 score, which sparked back-and-forth play. During the stretch, there were seven tie scores leading to 13-13. Princeton then went on an 8-2 run to jump to a 21-15 lead. The Big Red fought for a 5-4 run, but Princeton kept the lead to win, 25-19.Â
